Open letter to Mr Modi
Open letter to Mr Modi
"Mr. Modi, I can indeed sense the innate satisfaction you would experience when you go to bed tonight. A kind of contentment a politician might enjoy while hitting that vote bank jackpot. But, unfortunately, like your predecessors, you haven't understood that this so-called jackpot is nothing but a foolish mirage.
This journey was indeed so cunning and deserves enough appreciation. The strong foundation of an aggressive populace might have made it easier for you to build on. Your great leader Godse might come to your dreams tonight, and you can be grateful to him for those 3 bullets that laid the foundation for your paradox years ago. Yet, I cannot help but feel pity for the millions of people who were eagerly waiting for this day.
At the same time, I feel a sense of lingering pain while thinking about the mental trauma my Muslim brothers and sisters have to go through, especially this evening. There would always be some people who are always born to be cheated. And in this particular epoch of history, the countless Hindus who ardently believe in this temple inauguration will always don the crown of fools in the collective memory of this country.
But Mr. Modi, never forget one thing: you can rewrite the history of this country, but no matter how hard you try, you cannot erase anything from it. This article is also a heartfelt apology to the great ruler Babur, who was one among the most secular rulers India has ever seen. My heart is bleeding in the memory of the people whose blood and tears went into the building of this temple.
Let me try and invoke the same sentiments once shared by one of the greatest and daring journalists, Fritz Gerlich, who also happens to be my idol. In his last letter, he wrote to his wife before being taken to the Nasi firing point where he achieved martyrdom. He wrote words that deeply echo even today. 'Dear Sofi, I am not worried about my end. It was evident the moment I took my pen against Hitler. But now I feel pity about these people who are endlessly lynching their own brothers and sisters.,They are wrapped in an illusion created by that dictator with his toxic hatred. These people will not realize their deeds till a certain moment in that solitary day when they will awaken into grave reality. That day, that moment, they would realize that they should have killed that one person whom they were blindly obeying.
Thank you, dear Veda, for sending me this letter once again. That letter would be etched as the wisest and most prophetic words one can mince as he is about to face the end of his own life. A life that he willingly gave up to fight against a devil incarnate without any support from the public. As history is repeating once again at this very moment, let me borrow the same words: 'You people cannot understand that you are killing your brothers and sisters, but one day you will come back to your senses, and that day you will hunt down the one whom you are obeying right now.'
I am not sure whether I will be alive enough to witness that day, but if I am, I would greet the sun with the name of millions who died under the footsteps of Modi. I am writing this article only because I don't want history to identify me as one among these fools. As Fritz Gerlich wrote, 'Don't identify me as a German if Germans kill my fellow Jewish people,' and I'm using the same words now: Never ever identify me as a Hindu if Hindus are the ones who demolished Babri Masjid.
As Martin Luther King Jr. once wisely said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Modi ji, please continue your hunt until that end moment when even Hitler realized that he deserves nothing but a single bullet. Let me conclude my words with the same phrase that I always use: Mr. Modi, you are a fanatic rapist of justice, and your government is a perverted pimp of power politics."
